About the Academy

An educator reading a story to a group of children
Since 2011

Built by educators, not by a franchise

Brightpath was founded by two nursery teachers who were tired of watching good childcare get squeezed by ratios that did not add up. Fifteen years later we are still independent, still run by educators, and still refusing to take on more children than our rooms can hold properly.

That decision costs us money and buys us something better: educators who stay. The average Brightpath room lead has been with us for six years, which means the person greeting your child in September is very likely to still be there in June.

  • Independent and family-owned since day one.
  • Ratios better than the statutory minimum in every room.
  • Six-year average tenure among our room leads.

How We Work

Four commitments we never trade away

Safety first

Fob entry, camera intercom, fenced gardens and a named safeguarding lead on site every day.

Small groups

Ratios better than the legal minimum in every single room, checked daily by the manager.

Real curriculum

Planned early-years learning with observations shared openly with you each term.

Honest updates

If your child had a hard day, we tell you. No sanitised summaries, ever.

Good to Know

Questions parents ask on tour

If yours is not answered here, ask us on the day — we would rather over-explain than leave you unsure.

Children playing with toy vehicles together

We open at 7:00 AM and close at 6:30 PM, Monday to Saturday. We close for one week at Christmas and for four staff-training days a year, all published a year in advance.

Yes, with one working day's notice and subject to space in the room. Swaps are free — we do not charge an administration fee for them.

Our kitchen manager writes an individual plan with you before your child starts, photographs go on the kitchen wall, and every meal is checked twice before it leaves the kitchen.

Three free sessions across a fortnight, starting with an hour alongside you. Your child's key person leads all three and stays with them for the first month.

Yes, for all eligible children. The funded hours are deducted on your invoice and we never charge a top-up fee against them.
